They can legally do that because a constitutional amendment says so. Specifically, the 14th Amendment says so. After the American Civil War, people that waged War against the US were deemed ineligible to hold office for a country they rose up against. Now this is being applied to Trump because of January 6th. He argued that his comments that his supporters should “walk down to the Capitol” and “fight like h***” to “take back our country” were decided to not be protected by the 1st Amendment.
Not just anyone can be president of the US. There aren't many requirements, but there are some. You have to be at least 35, a natural-born American, and not be involved in insurrection against our country. If you fail any of these, you aren't legally eligible. This means half of Colorado can write in votes for Trump and it wouldn't matter if he can't legally be President. Writing in votes for an ineligible Trump would be like writing in votes for a kid, Kim Jong Un, or Santa Claus.

Other states will try and follow suit. But the Republican dominated federal supreme court might overrule this. If not then Nikki Haley will become the 1st female president in history and that is fine by me.

The answer isn't a secret or great mystery. It's been discussed everywhere on social media and news. Yet somehow Trump supporters act like those answers aren't out there when they complain about it being wrong. There's no way they haven't already ran into those answers which means they're choosing to ignore them. Ignoring it isn't making it go away.

I ran into this all the time with flat-Earthers. They keep talking like nobody can explain this and nobody has answers for that but everyone has answers for them and gives them answers all the time but they just ignore answers they don't like and pretend they're not there.

I suspect that drives you up the wall. You suspect correctly. I feel like I'm talking to a dog when discussing flat-Earther nonsense.

Jesus or God had nothing to do with it. Why do some people act like Trump is somehow a man of God?

Do people honestly see him as some sort of spiritual man of Christ?

Do people honestly see him as some sort of spiritual man of Christ? Yes, but I can't figure out why.
