Here, try that. It's at the end of that clip. In the episode he spends a great deal of time there, talking to drivers, taking part in things, helping in the pits, and whatnot. At the end of this clip he gets a turn at driving one of the cars.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying NASCAR is easier, per se. Each is a totally different type of animal with its own difficulties. With NASCAR, in my virtual experience, it's not so much getting around the track as much as doing it inches away from forty other cars and trying to avoid a twenty-car pile-up.

why would they get dqed for car damage? They're not allowed to sit too low, partially for safety reasons as cars have skid before, leaving the driver unable to control their car, but also to restrict downforce. Excess wear on the underside suggests cars are lower than allowed, which is a rule violation.

Sounds a bit harsh.

It's an upsetting result for me since I'm a Lewis Hamilton fan, but rules are rules. They're inflexible. If not enforced, there's no point in having them. It's a real shame, though, because it was an interesting and exciting conclusion to the race.
He got screwed back in 2008 at Spa, on a technicality, ruining what was an exciting race finish. I'll look for a clip.

It won't display here because it has copyrighted material, so I'll have to link to it.

What was he penalized for there in 2008?

He didn't make the chicane and cut it, gaining an advantage. He's supposed to give the position back and he did, briefly, before resuming his battle for the lead. After the race he was given a time penalty because he didn't wait long enough before taking up the fight again. They decided he couldn't go for the position again until after the next turn. The time penalty demoted him behind Felipe Massa, who wasn't even in contention for the lead.

F1 is in Mexico this weekend. FP3 is going on right now and qualifying is in a few hours for the race tomorrow. It's at a higher altitude so the air is thinner, resulting in less power as well as reduced downforce.

Free Practice 3 A typical race weekend consists of Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2 on Friday, Free Practice 3 and qualifying on Saturday, and the Grand Prix on Sunday. Practice is an opportunity to try out car upgrades and compare them to the old part, and to try out and fine-tune car setups. They also collect data on pace, tire wear rates for different tire compounds, and compare pace versus tire life to formulate strategies. Faster tires don't last as long and can mean more pit stops, so you need a good compromise.

The race starts in a little over an hour but pre-race festivities and coverage are already in full swing.

Huge disappointment for the fans in Mexico when their local hero Sergio Perez made a move at the start of the race to try overtaking the lead pair of Ferraris to jump in front but he and his teammate Max Verstappen created a Charles Leclerc sandwich with Leclerc having nowhere to go and he and Perez came together, slightly damaging Leclerc but knocking Perez out of the race. This is brutal for Mexican fans because Perez was from Mexico. The grandstands were packed with people eager to support him. Verstappen took the lead immediately and as of this post continues to lead, but Hamilton has climbed to second behind him. Ferrari have settled into third and fourth, though Russell isn't far behind.
