They've definitely came a long way, but it's also impressive considering that it had a $15,000,000 budget. That's like a budget for a commercial in the US.

It is, but it's more impressive when you factor in that it's built on a budget of just $15 million. For comparison, the 2014 American Godzilla film had a budget of $160 million; over ten times more, and that doesn't account for inflation. Factoring in inflation, the 2014 film would be $208 million in 2023.
