ok hear goes. we have 2 kids. we were raised in christian homes. we went to church as kids. our mom and dad went to church as kids. its important to us to be raised right and know jesus. we have so much trouble getting our kids to go to church. its like we are literaly killing them. i dont know if other parents had this much trouble making there kids want to go to church.

Wow, we're really being put to the test right out the gate here. Religion is a sense subject that people feel really strongly about, and wars have literally been fought over it.
I understand your kids' position. Nobody, of any age, likes to have anything forced on them. My parents made us go to church for a while and several friends' parents made them go to church, and I often got dragged to church with those friends. Kids don't really get religion, and they find church dreadfully boring. Sunday School isn't as bad for kids, but eventually they're stuck in the sanctuary falling asleep while some old guy drones on about stuff they don't understand or care about.
A problem with forcing something on people is they are not only unreceptive to it but naturally inclined to push back. Pushing religion on kids can very well make them hate religion, especially the one pushed on them. I feel it's better to let people choose religion rather than it being forced on them.

I get wanting your kids to be raised with good values. That's a noble goal that any parent should aspire to. I'm afraid Mr. Yeti is probably right, though. Too often I've seen kids raised in strict religious homes and those kids grow up to be basically opposite of everything their parents wanted from them. They can still be raised up being taught good values without forcing them to sit through services they don't get anyway.

im sorry now dont get mad... You're good. It's okay for people to have a difference of opinion, different perspectives, and different beliefs. The important thing is to be able to have a civil discussion about it rather than being rude, getting hateful, and sinking to personal attacks. I know a lot of people believe that Christianity is the only path to being good people but the world is full of good people that were raised up under different religions or without religion at all. To some extent, being a good person comes from our conscience, and we can pick up on right and wrong from others in our lives, regardless of their religious beliefs. It's one thing to read about right and wrong in a book, but another to experience people living right and wrong. Actions speak louder than words.

The irony. Me being Paladin which is a religious knight. I don't think I agree on forcing church on people. Let them choose.
