I was watching some old Sarah Silverman shows and got to thinking about female comedians. I think the most popular comedians are Jeff Dunham and Gabriel Iglesias, and so many are men, but there are several female comedians that are pretty funny with their own unique style.

I don't watch comedians. I watch some comedy movies but not standup comedians.

I enjoy several female comedians, but never really thought about ranking them or picking a favorite. Sarah Silverman seems more like dark or twisted humor. Amy Schumer and Nikki Glaser are more "adult" humor. I find all these entertaining. I enjoyed Whitney Cummings a bit but her voice is a bit shrill. There's one I can hear in my head but I can't attach a name to her. She's smaller and often sounds like a kid. I like several female Saturday Night Live cast members over the decades.

It's not for everyone. Some people like cleaner comedy. I remember as a kid listening to Jeff Foxworthy for the first time and my parents and siblings were there. I didn't know what to expect but at the time people made a big deal of his comedy. It was fine except when it went into more "adult" humor. I was so uncomfortable listening to that with my parents there. I grew up in a home where I never got "the talk" and we never acknowledged that adult intimacy was even a thing. |

Of the ones mentioned so far I think I just know Schumer and Silverman. They're alright but I haven't seen a lot.

I'm not an expert on comedians but I know some of the big ones. Maybe Amy Schumer. One I remember but I don't see here is Lisa Lamponelli. Not sure if I spelled it right. She isn't amazing which may be why nobody thought of her but she sprang to mind.
