As far as I am concerned, and I'm not alone in this, Top Gear (UK) died when Jeremy Clarkson was fired and May and Hammond quit. Nevertheless, they tried keeping the show going with replacement hosts. I tried giving them a chance but they just weren't working for me, at all. The part you quoted mentions Freddie's crash but it unintentionally downplays it. Perhaps people glancing at this don't appreciate the severity of the crash. It was almost fatal and left him with life-changing injuries. There was a several-million quid settlement. It was a big deal.
