Does anybody have a favorite childhood memory? Something that stands out as special or for whatever reason they won't forget it. I have fond memories of going fishing with my dad. I don't think it was so much about the fishing as much as the special bonding time. It was especially magical if the weather was perfect. Warm sun sparkling on the water ripples, gentle breeze across the lake. Cooler full of cold root beer. It's nothing fancy but it's funny how sometimes it's the simple things that are most special.

I'm not really sure. Maybe trips to COSI. It's a science center with lots of interactive exhibits, made for the whole family but appealing to kids.

Getting the family dog
I just got home from School and was given a box. Inside I felt something furry and it moved, and I'm like is that a fluffy puppy? and I was told yes, yes it is. We're looking after it for a friend for the night
That night, I insisted I sat with the puppy, and stroked it all night while it slept
Next morning I went to school again, and when I got back in the evening the puppy was still here.
I asked: are you not taking it back?, and I was told well, um, We weren't looking after it for anyone. It's our puppy if you want it
And so began a few months of looking after a doggy. So cute!

I'm afraid I can't contribute much to this thread as I don't have any good childhood memories. However if anyone ever creates a thread about bad childhood memories, my post will be a full page long.

I had an uncle that had a sailboat. When we were kids he took us out on the ocean with it.
