Does anyone here play a musical instrument? My daughter plays the clarinet. When I was her age I started playing the trumpet but I didn't keep up with practicing it. My lips weren't shaped ideally for the trumpet but I was taught a way to fudge it, but because I didn't practice regularly I gradually forgot how to make my lips work for it. My sisters played the clarinet, and my brother has a flute a professor made for him. I got a violin a year or two ago but I don't have anyone that can teach me to play it and books just don't cut it.

I just never tried. I imagine I would get frustrated when I sound bad. I'm sure it would take years before it sounds good.

Admittedly, these things probably planted the seed of interest but I do like the sound of them and the seem cool. They have an elegant sophistication.
