I just received a call from the superintendent of our town's schools. It addressed concerns over a threatening email sent to schools, how it's being handled, and whether or not we should be concerned. They say they've done everything they can and don't believe parents should be alarmed.

Thats horrible. What did you do? Did you take your kids home? Were they scared? Ours stayed in school, and they don't seem to have been worried about it. They're smart kids and understand risks and that bad things can happen, so it's not like they're ignorant and oblivious to threats, but I try not to have them freaking out either.

Have you heard anything more about it? I Googled it and found multiple articles all from the same state all saying the threat didn't seem credible. At least one article says 52 school districts were threatened.

At least one article says 52 school districts were threatened. That's basically all I know. The FBI is investigating it but it wasn't believed to be a credible threat. There's something about it allegedly being Russian terrorists but in reality is believed to be a hoax.

We didn't have junk like this when I was a kid. It's a shame kids today have to grow up in a world like this.

The world changes but I don't think the past was as great as people remember it. Okay, I didn't have bomb threats, but I grew up practicing hiding under my desk in case the Soviet Union nuked us, because obviously my desk protect me from a nuclear blast and the radiation.
