Does anyone else still wash dishes by hand or does everyone use a dishwasher? I can't see paying hundreds of dollars to wash dishes. I think cheap ones run at least $300 and they can run two to three times that.

I have a dishwasher but it is old and it's best days are behind it. The door seal is shot and the thing leaks. I have to put a towel on the floor underneath the door. Lately I have been doing my dishes by hand. I don't mind doing that, I just put on some nice music and do my thing. Besides my dishes come out cleaner by hand, and putting my hands in warm water is somehow comforting. My old dishwasher is still useful as I can use it to hide all my dirty dishes until I'm ready to do them.

I wash by hand. All the dishwashers we had as a kid never adequately cleaned the dishes unless we pre-cleajed them first. The dishes always had bits of stuff plastered to them and it was gross. I feel like if I have to pre-clean them first then what's the point in the dishwasher? People say you need a better one. I don't see me paying $800+ for a good one just to wash dishes. For all I know I could invest in a good one and still be disappointed.
