Probably half the websites I visit fill my screen with a big box about accepting their cookies. I'm stuffed with cookies.

There's definitely tracking going on outside of individual websites. Somehow the whole internet knows if I looked up a product because suddenly there's ads for it all over. It's like the internet is stalking me.

It's like the internet is stalking me. I run into the same thing. I look up something on Amazon and suddenly I get ads for it on Facebook.

Let us know if you find out because I have no idea and I don't know if anyone knows. I tried. I've got nothing. I wanted answers and found none. As near as I can tell, someone back in 1979 pulled the term from their buttocks and it stuck.
