www.gamingbible.com/news/platform/need-for-speed-underground-2-hailed-as-peak-gaming-014541-20240109According to this article, Need for Speed: Underground 2 is still considered the peak of racing games. I don't agree. It's the last time I really liked Need for Speed, but I don't recall personally seeing NFS or even Underground 2 specifically as being the best in racing games, and I don't recall seeing gamers say so, either. It talks as though Forza is the next best thing, but Forza has been the industry benchmark since Xbox 360 days.

What about Gran Turismo?

Good point. While Forza has been the benchmark for a few generations now, there are still those that swear by Gran Turismo, and in the days of PSX and PS2 Gran Turismo was the undisputed benchmark. I really don't see where they're getting it's Need for Speed: Underground 2 or any NFS game at all. I was discussing this with a friend at work and he was saying, at least from his experience, is that Underground 2 isn't even considered by NFS fans to be the best in the series.

Maybe the person that wrote the article just happens to associate with a lot of big Need For Speed fans. You know like in high school how the smokers thought almost everyone smoked because the people they were around all the time were all smokers. The author knows a lot of Need For Speed fans and assume most people love it?
