I'm not a fan of Halo, but was going to post about it just because it has its fans. However, this news turns out to not even be about a video game, but a tabletop miniature game. www.gamingbible.com/news/platform/new-halo-game-announced-for-this-year-878652-20240112I can't find a specific date for it, but the article says it's due this year, and later mentions updating on their experience in September. They mention 40mm figures and team multiplayer battles. They say attempts were made at Halo tabletop games before and those were met with failure but that tabletop gaming has been seeing a resurgence. I'm not a Halo fan but I do like hearing that there's a resurgence in tabletop gaming. I always liked tabletop miniature gaming, though it's slow, expensive, and takes up a lot of room.

I don't imagine typical Halo fans gathering around a table rolling dice playing with figurines.

I don't imagine typical Halo fans gathering around a table rolling dice playing with figurines. I suspect you're right. Fans of American football probably aren't big into crochet. Halo fans probably look at tabletop miniature gamers as dorks.

I don't think there's an overlap between those two audiences.

I like shooters but not Halo. Definitely not playing with dnd miniatures tho. I suspect that's a common sentiment so I don't know who they expect to be interested in this tabletop game.
