It'll be a fusion reactor instead of fission so it won't produce all the toxic waste, and nuclear power shouldn't be a threat if properly maintained and supervised.

I don't know. After stuff like Chernobyl I just don't know if it's worth the risk.

But if they do drop the ball we get widespread devastation.

But if they do drop the ball we get widespread devastation. That is fair, and going with nuclear means gambling on that not happening. Hopefully not wanting that to happen would be adequate motivation for not letting that happen.

i dont like it. i think most of us agree on this. That does look to be the general consensus here, though we're not a good sample of the global population. Americans aren't as open to nuclear power as a lot of the rest of the world is, I think. We're like that with a lot of stuff. We're more reluctant to go to more fuel-efficient cars or cars using alternative fuel/power sources. We're perfectly happy burning dead dinosaurs until there's none left and then we'll start thinking about what to do next.

Well at least we mostly agree on something.

I've been questioned about that before, mainly because of my interest in F1 and global motorsports in general.
