I wasn't sure if I should put this in the political board since it's not exactly politics. I don't want another Cuban Missile Crisis.

Sort of. I'm not going to pretend I'm intimately familiar with the subject, but from what I've read the nuclear weapons aren't for nuking ground targets, but satellites. I'm not sure why they need nukes to take out satellites, though. They're not exactly tough as nails.
