1) Treat people with respect. We expect people to adhere to the Golden Rule - do until others as you would have others do unto you. If you can't resist being a jerk, you have the entire internet for that.
2) Do not use foul language. Profanity is strictly forbidden. We have filters that will automatically replace banned words but trying to bypass filters or finding foul words that were overlooked for censorship will not be tolerated.
3) This community is intended for a broad range of potential users, so use caution when discussing a subject. We don't intend to outright forbit a particular topic, but if staff feels a subject is pushing limits of sanitation then some cleaning may be required and we may even be forced to update policies to subsequently disallow sensitive subjects.
4) Many topics can elicit heated argument and strong feelings. Thus far these will be allowed, but discussion is expected to remain civil. It is okay to have a difference of opinion. No two people agree on everything. If you participate in discussion of such a topic, others have the right to challenge your position, as you do theirs. If you post something that may be false, expect someone to challenge it. Our beliefs being tested is how we gauge their strength, or their weakness. If your position is so weak that it cannot withstand debate, and this is a problem for you, perhaps it is best not to post it.
5) Don't spam. We have a dedicated board for self-promotion, so if we want to share our personal videos, social media profiles, websites, or whatever else, that's the place for it.
6) Avoid disruptive posting. This is stuff like posting in all capital letters, posting a series of repeated replies just moments apart that could have just as well have been one larger post, or posting massive images that disrupt the flow and/or form of the page. These are just some examples, so use common sense.
7) Be careful with personal information. The internet is a dangerous place with no shortage of bad people. It is not a good idea to share too much personal information that could potentially be used against you.
8) "😆" is not a counter-argument. It is common on Facebook for users to see someone post something they doesn't agree with or don't like but rather than posting a meaningful counter-argument they instead react with "😆." A laughter emoji makes sense if someone posted a joke. As a response to something you don't like, it's obviously intended to convey "Hey, dummy, you said something so stupid that I laugh at your stupidity." This goes against the intended vibe of our community. It is not our desire for a member to blatantly call another "stupid" or to clearly intentionally imply it.
This is a living document that can be updated as it is felt necessary. The initial three points should give reasonable notion of expectation so use common sense. Please don't make us ban anyone. This is supposed to be a positive, welcoming place. Let's keep it that way.
