On the way to work I heard something scraping. I parked and went to check it out. There's this big plastic underskirt under the front end that I guess keeps rocks and water from going up into the engine but now it's dragging the ground. Worse, it's dragging at the front while clinging on at the back, setting it up to catch and rip off, and to actually direct stuff up into the engine. Now I'm looking for duct tape to hold it back up until I can get a more permanent fix.
😞

That sucks. What are you going to do? I assume you're still at work.

Yeah, I'm at work. I borrowed a roll of duct tape to see if I can hold it up for now. I just don't expect it to hold for long.

What about just ripping it off if its barely hanging on there any way?

What about just ripping it off if its barely hanging on there any way? I'd be afraid of doing that and ending up with damage to the motor or subframe resulting from objects or excessive water going up in there.

I don't know that it would cost a lot. It's more of time, I think. If you take it to be fixed, you have to wait until they get around to fixing it, even if it might only take them twenty minutes. All that time you're stuck with no car.
