The other day we unceremoniously added a search field at the top menu beside the default Search option, and now we've added BBCode buttons (stuff like bold, italics, font size, et cetera) to quick replies. Previously these were only an option if you click to go to the reply page.

did the search box get smaller Yes. At this time, there are more buttons in the top menu bar than most users see. Specifically, I have two more. One could be made available to anyone but at this time it would simply be clutter. The other would be for staff only. When the search field was wider it crammed the other buttons and at the far right they'd get forced out of the row. We shrunk the field a bit to help the buttons all fit, even though most people at this time wouldn't have suffered the problem. |
