Consoles often don't have disc drives now. Rumor is that future consoles won't even have disc drives at all. Some people are happy about that. Do you guys use disc's or all digital? What if we stop having discs?

I want a disc drive but honestly almost everything I play on my Series X is digital just because it's more convenient. I like feeling like I actually own something, though, and I don't get that with something I can't physically hold. If something happens that I lose internet or if there's an issue with Xbox Live, I can't play my digital games, but I can play discs. I can loan or borrow discs, but I can't loan you my digital games. It's also weird gifting digital games. With a physics game you have something to wrap and hand to someone. Digital doesn’t have that.
As far as rumors go, I've also been reading that stores like GameStop and Walmart will stop selling physical games.

I don't play many games but my man does. I feel like if you don't have a disc it's like you don't really own it. I think he likes to download most games however.

I feel like if you don't have a disc it's like you don't really own it. I feel the same way and insisted on a disc drive for my Xbox, but I'm also guilty of downloading almost everything because it's just convenient. |
