I noticed everything anyone here has uploaded to Imgbb has disappeared. I checked the site and it's working just fine. I scrolled through their front page and it had plans that cost money, and in the description it included direct linking. We were doing that anyway. It looks like we were found out and our images were deleted.
Now I'm going to have to look for an alternative. If I find one I'll share it.

I don't know if that's what really happened. I'm seeing some of the images from there, but not others. I checked several posts with images hosted there and found three displaying and four that are not. I doubt I found every post with images hosted there but that's the numbers from those I did find. They may not be deleted but may instead show up again later. Time will tell.

I'm seeing some but some that I know were there before aren't showing now. I see the pictures of the stuffed dog visiting around the world but i don't see the ones where people got banned. I also don't see some of the pics on the meme thread.

This is very strange. I tried different browsers on different devices and got different results. On Edge on my laptop I see everything. On Firefox on my laptop I saw memes and the banned thing but not the stuffed dog ones. On some mobile browsers I saw different combinations and on some I saw none of these at all. I wonder if there's something limiting traffic to images on there. So, maybe they aren't deleted but they just aren't loading based on traffic calling for them or something like that. I feel like we need to get to the bottom of this. I tried clearing my cache and whatnot and it made no difference.

They aren't deleting them but something is up on their end. The images didn't load for me either but I went to upload one a few minutes ago and posted it here and suddenly they all shown up for me.

Did you know we can add pics directly instead of using a host?  It took some figuring out. If you click on attachments you can upload pics. Ok cool but now what? When we type our post clicking the button for pics still just asks for a url. How do we use our pic we attached? Well go back to attachments and click the insert button. It plugs it into our post. Problem solved? |

I wouldn't advise relying on attachments. Our gracious host allows us up to a maximum of 200 MB of attachments. That's the collective, cumulative total for the entire community combined. If we start running out of space we will need to start deleting some attachments to free up space. Due to the storage limit, we have already restricted attachment sizes to no more than 3 MB each. Using myself as an example, photos on my phone are around 2 MB each, give or take half a meg. A hundred 2 MB attachments would fill our allotted space. I know at this time that doesn't sound like it should be a concern since we are a new and small community, but down the road it should become an issue.
It is officially an option on the table, but if we want pictures to stay indefinitely people may wish to continue using outside hosting sources. At this time we are good on storage because, and I just checked, the only attachment is the one Paladin just posted here, and it's a small file, but it's hard to say about six months down the road. Pictures may have to start disappearing and I would feel bad about that. That wouldn't be fluffy.

I have no idea. What is it? Were still waiting for an answer. Oops. I missed this. My bad. It's a Spawn reference.  Spawn had a finite amount of power and it depleted when he used it. The comic books had a meter keeping track of how much was left. I viewed our usage of our limited storage like Spawn's necroplasm. |
