They're trying to protect you, from false information and from fake news, and from having your identity stolen. I've been intently following AI lately and we're getting close to some potentially dangerous possibilities. One that I ran into was an engineer decided to put AI to the test, actually testing four specific things to see how the AI did. One of them, off the top of my head, was having the AI speak on her behalf to an automated system for a major credit card company. The system was supposed to verify your identity, partially through voice recognition. The AI she used was able to fool the credit card system into believing the AI was really her. She also did tests with video conference calls with live people that know her and the AI almost fooled them. For a bit they thought it was the real her but eventually something subtle tipped them off. While that latter test ultimately failed, it almost succeeded, which means we're scary close to it being convincing enough to fool people that actually know us. I've gotta be honest, Marge. It's getting kinda old by now. I know, right? I'm trying to be nice. Everyone has a right to a different opinion and a different perspective but it's feeling like we're listening to a broken record and like trolling. |

Now how can they possibly know that? Simulations based on what we know. They know how plates are moving so they can anticipate where they're going. They have some understanding of how weather and climate work and apply that to models of future continent shapes. |

They don't act like anything, least of all like they know everything. They seek knowledge but don't claim to know much of anything. They claim what the evidence suggests and refine that when new evidence comes in but they definitely don't pretend to know everything. |

we wont be hear in millions of years any way. I forgot to respond to this part. We may not be here in 250 million years, but probably not for the same reason you have in mind. I presume you imply that Jesus will return long before that and all that. Realistically, it's more like something will wipe us out by then. Few species have enjoyed a run of hundreds of millions of years. It'll probably be us wiping ourselves out, but if we don't do ourselves in the universe has plenty of weapons at its disposal to take us out. |

We've been told that for two-thousand years. People convince themselves that Jesus is returning during their lives like previous generations never expected the same thing. They did. I can't imagine any generation didn't believe they were living in the end times. Another two-thousand years from now Christians will still be swearing Jesus is coming back soon. |
